The Future of Us
“Art direction and graphic design for Singapore’s Golden Jubilee (SG50) – “The Future of Us”, an exhibition that celebrates the possibilities of how Singaporeans can live, work, play, care and learn in the future.”
Experiential Space
There are six immersive and interactive zones that are designed for all ages of visitors.
“Newspaper-inspired exhibition design incorporated typography, animations, infographic, and bold, attention-grabbing headlines.”
The Future Express
Here visitors step into a thematic editorial showcase featuring news headlines from the past, present and into the future.
“Theatre of Generations is a 360-degree dome-projected visual storytelling of ordinary Singaporeans that sets the tone for the entire exhibition.”
Home Tomorrow
Home Tomorrow is an experiential space where creative innovations and lifestyle concepts demonstrate the kind of community Singapore could build in the future. Large murals, motion graphics and infographics are used to visually represent these concepts.
“From character design to storyboarding, more than 200 window scenes were illustrated for the future city.”
“Each building structure engages visitors through a variety of media, including interactive multimedia, diorama showcases, motion graphic, lightbox, and graphic print.”
“Visitors are encouraged to experiment with the interactive displays to discover the “future” possibilities of work, live, learn, care and play in Singapore.”
Blue Skies
The user interface and wireframe are designed to simulate the idea of making a wish and sending it into the sky, where it will be projected on the dome for all visitors to see.
The Lion
The last zone is the playground, which is an essential component of national identity and a public space, which is represented in red and white. Visitors are encouraged to sit on the swing and listen to the background sound effects, which are intended to be both an art installation and a tactile exhibit.
“Visitors are encouraged to experiment with the interactive displays to discover the “future” possibilities of work, live, learn, care and play in Singapore.”
