One People, One Community
Our Community Gallery, developed in collaboration with Pico and Zing, showcases Singapore’s community building journey through the stories of grassroots leaders, volunteers, and everyday individuals who have shaped resilient communities over the decades. Through immersive exhibits and personal narratives, it traces the evolution of collective efforts from nation-building to today, highlighting how shared purpose and participation continue to strengthen Singapore’s social cohesion as one people and one community.

Welcome Zone
The Welcome Zone introduces visitors to the concept of community building through tactile and interactive games, setting the foundation for the gallery experience. It also guides visitors to register their RFID bands, preparing them for a seamless and immersive journey through the rest of the gallery.
Singapore’s Turbulent Beginnings
Zone 1 immerses visitors in the riot days of Singapore, combining schematic signages, props, and environmental graphics with an immersive show projected on walls and screens, conveying the social and communal tensions that marked the early days of the nation.
Forging Our Path to Social Cohesion
Transitioning from the turbulent beginnings, Zone 2 leads visitors into a schematic recreation of Singapore’s first community centre. The journey toward social cohesion is brought to life through tactile elements, colourful illustrations, interactive activities, props, and immersive settings, guiding visitors from the early community centre to today’s vibrant void decks.

Weathering Crises as a Community
Transitioning from the vibrant environment, Zone 3 adopts a more serious tone, drawing visitors into the shared experiences of Singaporeans during times of national crisis and encouraging reflection on how the community came together to overcome challenges.
Charting Our Way Forward
The final zone is the most colourful, celebrating a united and collaborative future. Vibrant community illustrations and interactive elements encourage visitors to come together and engage collectively, while the zone also concludes the outcomes of each visitor’s RFID journey, reflecting their participation throughout the gallery.
